Amy Selby is a committed and enthusiastic Registered Nurse of 35+ years, with over ten years in a Level III NICU providing direct patient care from delivery to discharge. Since discovering her passion for the NICU, Amy has become an IBCLC, completed her master’s degree, and received a Neonatal Clinical Nurse specialist certification.
Melissa is a board-certified lactation consultant, clinical herbalist, neonatal oral-motor assessment professional, and Perinatal Mental Health Certified Professional. In addition to working in private practice, she enjoys teaching, researching and writing about lactation-related topics. Melissa is the founder of Luna Lactation & Wellness®. Before pursuing a path in lactation, Melissa lived and studied in Japan. She was also a language instructor for almost a decade. From this background in culture and education sprung a deep love of supporting and educating families.
Cecília Tomori is Associate Professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing with a joint appointment at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health’s Department of Population, Family and Reproductive Health. Tomori is an anthropologist and public health scholar, who is internationally recognized for her expertise on breastfeeding, infant sleep, and maternal child health. She is an author of the 2023 Lancet Breastfeeding Series, three books – The Routledge Handbook of Anthropology and Reproduction (2021), Breastfeeding: New Anthropological Approaches (2018), Nighttime Breastfeeding (2014) – and numerous publications on a wide range of public health issues. Her work has been widely cited in peer reviewed literature, clinical and global public health guidance, and in the media.
Lyndsey Hookway is a public health and children’s nurse and an IBCLC, with a passion for evidence-based, family-centered care to infants, children and families. She has 20 years of experience supporting breastfeeding and responsive parenting. She speaks at regular international events, is a trustee of the Lactation Consultants of Great Britain, and the founder of the Breastfeeding the Brave project through which she regularly supports numerous medically complex and life-limited breastfed children and their families.
Instructor Kristin Cavuto is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and an IBCLC in private practice with deep knowledge of how bias affects care during birth and breastfeeding. Kristin is a LCSW and IBCLC in private practice in NJ. She is a mom of two boys, 17 and 15.
