Maintaining the IBCLC credential requires keeping up to date with continuing education. We offer a few ways to meet these requirements. To obtain additional information go to http://iblce.org/ then click on IBCLC Recertification.
Lactation consultants must recertify every 5 years per IBLCE Requirements. 5 years after passing the IBLCE Exam, recertification may be accomplished by completing 75 Continuing Education Recognition Points (CERPs). 10 years after passing their exam, you recertify by re-taking the certification exam again. Recertification is required every 5 years after that by alternating between recertification by CERPs and recertification by exam.
