- Q. What kinds of communication courses meet the requirement?
A. According to the IBLCE website: “Preferably, these five hours will be directly related to lactation and breastfeeding care, but this is not a requirement.” However, why settle for generic communications content, when you can access content designed around exactly the communications scenarios you will encounter when supporting lactating families? Each of our communications bundles delivers practice-specific content that you can use right away.
- Q. I did communication training years ago. Will that count?
A. Any communications training should be accepted by the IBLCE as long as it is obtained during the 5 year period right before you apply for their exam.
- Q. Are the 5 hours included in the LER 95+ hour course?
A. Yes! Our 95 Hour Lactation Consultant Training Program Enriched course includes Communication Skills for the Lactation Support Provider. If you only need the 5 hours of Communication Skills Training, you can select any one of our four Communications Bundles to fulfill this requirement.
