Your LER Subscription

At LER, we are committed to ensuring that you are learning from the most up-to-date material possible. As a part of our process of regularly updating our offerings, all of our courses are delivered by subscription.

How long is my subscription valid?

Your subscription to a course of 44 hours or less is valid for six months (180 days).
Your subscription to a course of 45 hours or more is valid for 12 months (365 days).
Your subscription to any exam prep offering is valid for six months (180 days).

What if I need more time to complete my course?

The overwhelming majority of students complete their course during their subscription period. We also know that sometimes circumstances change and you need more time. Extensions are available for purchase on most of our longer courses (except our Exam Prep offerings). If the need arises, contact customer support [link to customer support page] for details.

Why a subscription?

LER regularly updates our courses to ensure you have the most up-to-date content available. A subscription model allows us to update or retire courses as needed without affecting the content in your LER library. You can be assured that if you are currently subscribed to a course, the content still meets our standards.

Our Course Update Process

At LER, we know you rely on our courses to be accurate and to reflect the very latest in sound scientific evidence. To meet that standard, we follow a rigorous system for creating, evaluating, and reviewing each course we offer. Here is what you can count on from us:

Prelaunch final inspection. After it is produced and before it comes to you, each course is carefully reviewed for accuracy and alignment with adult learning principles.

Regular, ongoing evaluation and revision. We know that mistakes can happen and evidence changes. So once a course is added to our catalog, we continue to monitor it and ensure that it continues to meet our high standards. Each course is completely reviewed at least every three years and student evaluations are carefully reviewed each quarter. We monitor the emerging scientific evidence and review and adapt individual courses immediately if there is new evidence which substantially changes their content.

Compliance with continuing education credit policies. If you are an IBCLC or healthcare professional taking LER courses for continuing education credits, you can trust that we ensure our review process and frequency exceeds the requirements of the granting bodies.

Prompt response to feedback. We carefully review every piece of course-related feedback we receive from our students. If a question has been raised about the accuracy of any aspect of a course, our team of IBCLCs reviews the evidence and, if necessary, makes swift changes. We also quickly address any questions about global and cultural relevance. Edits are often made within 24 hours, depending on the nature of the issue.

A review board you can trust. Our review boards consist of our staff and instructors, who come from a variety of disciplines. For each course or question, we choose specific experts to complete the review based on the subject matter, topic, and content. Our team utilizes guidance from relevant professional organizations, textbooks, research, and clinical practice guidelines in their reviews.

Content you can trust is LER’s promise to you. Our review process ensures we keep that promise.
