Assessment of Tongue Structure and Function for Tongue-Tie Diagnosis
Evidence-Based Tools for Clinical Practice
Ever walked away from a tongue tie assessment thinking, "I'm pretty sure,” and wishing you felt more certain than that?
This module gives you the evidence, tools, and hands-on practice to assess with clarity and confidence.
This evidence-based module, presented by speech pathologist and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant Emma Necus, cuts through the confusion with a comprehensive, research-grounded approach to assessing tongue structure and function in infants under 12 months.
This Course Covers:
- Current evidence on lingual frenulum anatomy and why it's reshaping how we think about tongue tie
- What a truly comprehensive assessment of tongue structure and function looks like and how to document it
- The most commonly used assessment tools, including the Kotlow, Coryllos, ATLFF, LFPI, BTAT, and TABBY
- Hands-on practice scoring real clinical videos using the Lingual Frenulum Protocol for Infants
- Evidence-based decision-making around frenotomy referral and multidisciplinary care pathways
After this course, "I'm pretty sure" will give way to genuine clinical confidence.
