Rishita Jaju, DMD, MALD
Hi, I am Dr. Rishita Jaju, a pediatric laser dentist at Small Wonders in Reston, Virginia.
Over the years, I have worked closely with many colleagues, IBCLCs such as Susan, SLPs, bodyworkers, pediatricians, and so on. In working with them and learning from the various backgrounds, we have found a wonderful collaborative approach that has become an integral part of my practice and key to long-term successful outcomes for my patients. My journey to this place in my career has definitely been a scenic route. I completed my dental education at Harvard School of Dental Medicine and then continued to specialty training at Children's Hospital in D.C.
However, soon after my residency is when I was first introduced to laser dentistry and then infant oral health and treatment or management of tethered oral tissues serving as a part of the Council of Clinical Affairs with the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dentistry and a board member of Academy of Laser Dentistry, as well as helping provide such modules for LER and other organizations. I feel like this is my way to give back to the profession that has been such a big part of my life. Today, I want to bring you my knowledge and experience not only as a provider, but also as a mom who had experienced many of the symptoms and struggles that we will talk about, got support from my colleagues, for myself and for my baby, and then proceeded to provide the infant frenectomy procedure for my kiddo at age two weeks of age. I hope that today you'll keep an open mind and join the module and find information that will be helpful for your practice and incorporate it into your practice the very next day.
