LER holds all information collected about our students in the strictest confidence. Names and email addresses are necessary to process online classes.
We keep no credit card information on file except for our Payment Plan students who have agreed to monthly fees to pay their class tuition.
We offer a series of 5 bundles which together comprise our 90 hour Enriched Lactation Consultant Training Program. Enroll in each bundle as time and finances permit. Each bundle will take approximately 18 hours to complete and upon completion, will award an 18 CERP certificate. When you have completed Bundles 1 through 5, we will enable your Final Exam so you can earn your CBS, Certified Breastfeeding Specialist certificateTM. The total cost is $1025 and you pay as you go, on your own schedule. The textbook Breastfeeding and Human Lactation, 5th Ed is required, and is a separate purchase. Click here to get started!
Group discounts do not apply to individuals enrolled in the Installment Courses and all sales are final.
Extension of Access
Classes are available online for a term of one year. Students who would like to extend their access for an additional year may click here to authorize a one-time credit or debit card charge of $75.
Students who need their account re-activated after it has lapsed will incur a $75 fee. You may click here to authorize a one-time credit or debit card charge.
All LER classes are exclusively online. Classes will provide the appropriate number of Nursing Contact Hours, CERPs and CPEUs for dieticians.
Certain LER classes (The Enriched Lactation Consultant Training Program, the Lactation Consultant Training Program Core Phase I or Core Phase II, the Enriched Exam Review and Exam Review) are intended for preparing for the IBLCE certification exam. No guarantee is offered or implied regarding successful passing of the IBLCE Certification Exam. The course will offer a comprehensive coverage of lactation management topics. Individual study is additionally required.
Tuition to LER Lactation Training Courses does not include a clinical internship which is required to qualify for the IBLCE Certification Exam. Obtaining clinical experience is the responsibility of the student who is encouraged to seek internship sites in their local area. LER can assist in providing internships in the Washington, DC and Baltimore metropolitan and other select areas. Please view the requirements for clinical experience.
Certain LER classes (The Baby Friendly Hospital Training Program, Short Course for Prenatal Clinics, and Short Course for Pediatrics Clinics) are intended for preparing for the Baby Friendly Hospital designation process. No guarantee is offered or implied regarding successful designation. The course will offer a comprehensive coverage of lactation management topics. Changes in hospital polices and procedures are also required.
Online classes are subject to scheduled and unscheduled service interruptions and loss of server data. Although this is an unlikely scenario, LER is not responsible for loss, deletion, corruption or data loss of course files that occurs in connection with the service.
LER owns the property rights to the classes on our website and grants the user non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, non-salable use of the class materials.
LER offers lactation management classes for adults. Viewing images of certain body parts are an integral part of lactation education and are strictly for medical education.
LER classes may include hyperlinks to sites maintained or controlled by others. LER vets these websites at the time they are posted. Neither LER nor the individual instructors are responsible for hyperlinks that have moved or changed their content. LER will endeavor to find a replacement for hyperlinks that become inoperable.
In order to participate fully in LER online courses, you must maintain your computer with current software and recommended add-ons. You will need fiber, cable, or DSL internet service for best performance of the course software.
Parent and Professional Handouts
Handouts developed by LER for breastfeeding parents and for lactation professionals are available for download and may be freely reproduced. Please keep the LER identifying information intact.
LER operates course forums for our classes. Students are invited to post questions there. It is moderated by the LER staff. Comments of a defamatory or derogatory nature will be removed by the moderators.
No solicitations, comments about partisan politics, unlawful activities or commercial marketing may be posted on LER forums.
Students may withdraw within 2 months of registration and receive a partial refund for portions of the class that have not been completed. A partial certificate is issued for the portions of the class that have been completed. There will be no refunds after 60 days of course registration.

*Installment Series 01, 02, 03, 04, and 05 are not subject to refund.
When groups of students from the same organization register for the same class, we will establish a discount code for your group that can be accessed for 1 week. The discount schedule is as follows. (Course discounts do not apply to individuals enrolled in Monthly Payment plans or Installment Courses.)
3 + students = 10% off
5 + students = 15% off
10+ students = 20% off
